The book doesn’t involve any photography. But, has dozens of illustrations, borrowing Ruby’s word, ‘that capture particularly important parts of the cooking process, from how to fold flatbreads to the easiest way to fill pierogi’.

The whole process of illustrating has been a collaborative effort between editorial, design team, Ruby and me. I tried to bring warmth and diversity of the books by inserting the everyday details such as bag of life from Sainsbury’s, little drawings of a child, kente cloth and a walking stick.
